Megaatube® Pancake Coils

Standardized Annealed Copper Coils (15m) for Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. Manufactured to ASTM B280 & JIS H3300.

Soft Temper (060)

Annealed for maximum pliability. Allows for precise manual bending and flaring in tight spaces without kinking or work-hardening.

Cu-DHP 99.9%

Phosphorus Deoxidized Copper (Alloy C12200). High thermal conductivity with superior corrosion resistance in humid environments.

0.038 g/m² Cleanliness

Nitrogen purged and sealed. Meets strict residue limits to prevent blockage in capillary tubes and expansion valves.

Material Data

Engineered using Phosphorus Deoxidized Copper (C12200) to meet ASTM B280 and JIS H3300 requirements.

  • Alloy Specification C12200 (Cu-DHP)
  • Chemical Purity Cu + Ag > 99.9%
  • Phosphorus Content 0.015% ~ 0.040%
  • Temper Mode Soft Annealed (060)
  • Tensile Strength > 205 MPa

Installation Guidelines

R410A Brazing

For high-pressure refrigerants, we explicitly recommend using 15% silver solder. This ensures joint strength matches the increased operating pressures.

Safety Factor

Test pressure for piping installations must not exceed 1.5 times the safe working pressure.

Quality Assurance

Nitrogen Purged

Every coil is cleaned to a limit of 0.038 g/m² to prevent capillary blockage and protect compressors.

Eddy Current Tested

100% electronic testing via the Eddy Current method (ASTM E 243) to guarantee leak-free integrity.

Technical Support & FAQ

Common engineering questions regarding Megaatube® compliance, installation, and refrigerant compatibility.

What manufacturing standards do these coils meet?
Megaatube® pancake coils are manufactured in strict compliance with ASTM B280 (American Standard) and JIS H3300 (Japanese Standard). They meet all chemical and dimensional requirements for air conditioning and refrigeration field service.
Are these tubes rated for R410A / R32 refrigerants?
Yes. R410A and R32 operate at pressures approximately 60% higher than R22. We supply coils with increased wall thicknesses (up to 0.81mm) specifically engineered to handle these higher working pressures (SWP up to 4,599 kPa).
What is the recommended brazing method?
For high-pressure systems (R410A), we explicitly recommend using 15% Silver Solder. Standard soldering may not withstand the vibrational and pressure stresses of modern inverter compressors. Always use nitrogen purging while brazing to prevent oxidation.
How do you ensure the internal cleanliness?
To protect sensitive expansion valves and capillary tubes, every coil is nitrogen-purged to a residue limit of 0.038 g/m². The ends are mechanically sealed immediately after cleaning to prevent contamination during transport.
Is the copper easy to bend?
Yes. The coils are furnished in Soft Annealed (060) temper. This metallurgical state ensures superior ductility, allowing installers to flare and bend the tubing by hand in tight spaces without kinking or cracking.
